In March, John and Alyssa’s family grew! They welcomed their fifth baby to the world, and he also happens to be their first son. They have four daughters, Allie, Lexi, Zoey, and Maci. They named their little guy Rhett Alan, and both he and Alyssa seem to be doing well now.

Amid a happy time in her life, Alyssa is being accused of playing favorites with her kiddos. This isn’t the first time fans have made these claims about her though.
After Bringing Up Bates star Alyssa Bates Webster announced the birth of her son, several fans commented on her social media posts and called her out for showing favoritism. It turns out that some of her followers believe she’s already favoring Rhett over her daughters.

After reading these hurtful comments on Alyssa’s birth announcement posts for Rhett, a fan sent in an anonymous confession to the Duggar Bates Confessions Instagram page. They explained that they saw these comments about Alyssa favoring Rhett and felt that it was unnecessary to say such hurtful things as soon as her son was born.

In response to this confession post, many fans are talking about how awful it might have been for Alyssa to read these comments just after welcoming her son to the world. Fortunately, many fans are defending the mom of five. Some feel that she’s just excited about having another baby. Others acknowledge it’s a big deal because he’s the first boy but this doesn’t mean he’s the favorite.
Another Bringing Up Bates viewer said that they agree that Rhett is Alyssa’s favorite. They commented, “They’ve already openly said in their videos that he’s going to be so spoiled because he’s the only boy. It’s disgusting how much people care about gender.”
