Hallmark Mahogany is back with Spring Breakthrough. This stars Keesha Sharp (Lethal Weapon, Girlfriends), Demetrius Grosse (Lovecraft Country, Rampage), Rhyon Nicole Brown (Our Kind Of Love, Empire), and Akono Dixon (All American, Euphoria).
Rhonda Baraka (Holiday Heritage, Fallen Angels Murder Club), and Samantha Herman (Game Of Love, A Fabled Holiday) wrote the script with Mykelti Williamson (Chicago Med, Sweet Magnolias) directing.
What Is Hallmark Mahogany Movie Spring Breakthrough About
According to the Hallmark synopsis, spring break is coming, and Monica Rollins (Sharp) cannot wait for her daughter, Vivian (Brown) to return home. Now, more than ever, Monica needs to see her daughter.
The workaholic single mom just lost her job. But, when she thinks things cannot get worse, Vivian announces that she is engaged to Shawn (Dixon). Monica is taken by surprise. That is because she never expected her daughter to get engaged so young. Moreover, she didn’t even know her daughter was serious about anyone. Vivian kept this a secret.
Now, Monica needs to head to the Gulf Shores. This is where the engagement festivities will happen. Monica is determined to return home with the couple split up. Now, she just needs to show up.
At the airport, Monica has an unexpected encounter. She meets Shawn’s godfather, Clark Randall (Grosse), and there are sparks. However, not all the sparks are good. They don’t agree about the engagement. Monica thinks they are too young. But, Clark insists that Shawn is a good man and mature.
As the two spend time together, Monica starts to open herself up to love. Moreover, she is opening herself up to change her mind. Is this the spring break she needed?

The premiere of Spring Breakthrough is on Sunday, April 30, at 7 p.m., Eastern, on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. In addition, you can watch the premiere on Peacock at the same time. This Hallmark Mahogany movie will be available to stream for the next 72 hours.
The Future Of Hallmark Mahogany Includes Many New Projects
According to The Tennesseean, Hallmark Mahogany will be releasing one movie every quarter. In addition, the plans for the future include a scripted series and a podcast.
Most of all, the “foundational elements” will be present in everything under the Hallmark Mahogany brand. They include “sisterhood, friendship, connection, and community.”
According to Toni Judkins, Senior Vice President of Programming Development of Mahogany, this part of the brand has a clearly defined intention for its content.
Expanding the authentic, magical stories of love and romance that the Hallmark Channel is known for into telling stories through an intentional African-American female lens — that also empowers and showcases strong Black men loving and supporting Black women — gives Black women visibility through stories with happy endings written for them and by them.
