Some fans of 1000-Lb. Sisters can’t help but wonder if things would have worked out between the lovebirds if they hadn’t landed in the reality TV spotlight. It is no secret that reality TV puts a strain on a relationship. And, TLC doesn’t have a great track record of couples staying together. Kody Brown of Sister Wives, for example, lost nearly all of his wives. Amy and Matt Roloff got divorced. And, so did Jon and Kate Gosselin.
As Tv Shows Ace has just reported, it has been confirmed that Michael Halterman has officially filed for divorce from his wife Amy. This news comes as a bit of a shock as it was a month ago that it was reported that Amy made the decision to leave Michael with plans to divorce him. So, fans weren’t exactly expecting Michael to file the paperwork first.

Michael and Amy Halterman have reportedly been at each other’s throats for weeks. Sources close to the couple anonymously confirm most of their arguments are directly related to their children. Michael Halterman is reportedly done with reality TV and he doesn’t want his children in front of the cameras anymore. Amy, on the other hand, completely disagrees with him and has no issues with her boys continuing to film.
For some fans, learning the couple is fighting about this comes as a bit of a shock as Amy had originally admitted she wasn’t sure she wanted to come back to the show because of how exhausting filming was. Amy admitted during an interview she would only come back if they dialed back the amount of time spent filming.
The most recent season of 1000-Lb. Sisters has also caused a lot of hate to swirl around Michael Halterman. Fans blasted Michael for not helping more with the children as Amy was clearly struggling to handle them. 1000-Lb. Sisters have also called attention to Michael gaining weight as well as some hygiene concerns. Fans most supportive of this couple can’t help but wonder if the negativity swirling around them from the show caused issues in their marriage.
