Although Zachary Levi has been busy promoting Shazam! Fury Of The Gods movie, he is still interested in talking about Chuck. This is the NBC action hero, hit spy show that ran between 2007-2012 that launched the careers of Levi, Ryan McPartlin, Matt Bomer, and Yvonne Strahovski. The series still has a cult following, and very few people liked how it ended.
Levi, who portrayed Chuck Bartowski has even stated that the connection between the two franchises may actually help bring back a reunion. What do we know about a possible Chuck movie?
Zachary Levi Updates Chuck Fans On Possible Movie
Zachary Levi may currently be promoting his DC superhero movie, but he still wants to talk about a Chuck movie. According to a recent interview with SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, he thinks it may soon happen.
After revealing that he has been trying to get a movie happening even before the original NBC series ended. He saw it with fans crowdfunding Veronica Mars. Moreover, he thinks that creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak “are down to write it.”
He also said that the gang, which would include Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Julia Ling, and Bonita Friedericy, would all be in. Could Matt Bomer also join in the fun and bring Bryce Larkin back from the dead? That remains to be seen.
Chuck And Shazam! Part Of Warner Brothers
Zachary Levi believes that because Chuck and Shazam! are both owned by the Warner Brothers umbrella, he can make this all happen.
I’m in early talks with heads there to be like, ‘Hey guys, you know, I’m now you’re, your superhero over your Warner Brothers films. Let me use that goodwill and let me go make this.’
What does he need? He revealed that “It’s just a matter of Warner Brothers saying, ‘yeah, we’re down, and here’s a budget and go make that movie.'”
Peacock Just Ordered Monk Movie
One thing that bodes well for Chuck fans is that a few days ago, Peacock has ordered a Monk movie. They are bringing back Tony Shalhoub and the original cast for a reunion movie and mystery called Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie. The script is ready, and the streamer thought it was so good they ordered the movie.
In addition, Peacock has made three Psych movies. It should be added that Zachary Levi was in the first of the movies, Psych: The Movie, portraying The Thin White Duke. There is even talk about a fourth movie. Unlike Chuck, there is a script. They just need to reunite the cast and make it happen.
This demonstrates that this streamer is interested in making and streaming these reboot movies. Hopefully, there will be enough promise to get Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak to write a script and get that deal done.
