Lifetime’s latest thriller, Hillside Adoption Scam, is inspired by true events. This Ripped From The Headlines movie stars Keshia Knight Pulliam (A New Orleans Noel, The Christmas Aunt), Michael Strickland (Spencer Sisters, A New Year’s Resolution), and Danika Frederick (The Collector, Safehaven).

Justin D. James (The Baxters, Deadly Girl’s Night Out) wrote the script, with Asia Youngman (Odd Squad, Amplify) directing.

What Is Lifetime’s Hillside Adoption Scam About?

According to the Lifetime synopsis, Hillside Adoption Scam is based on real events. Bethany (Pulliam) and Terrence (Strickland) have everything going for them. They have a beautiful family, and fabulous friends, and own their own successful business. But, they cannot have another baby.

Things change when pregnant Georgia (Frederick) appears out of nowhere. She doesn’t know what she is going to do with her baby. Bethany thinks this is her chance to add to their family.

However, as time goes on, things are off. Now, Bethany and Terrance could be in danger. Georgia looks innocent, but she is a cunning liar that could put their lives in danger!

On Saturday, March 18, at 6 p.m., Eastern, on Lifetime is Girl In The Closet. This Ripped From The Headlines movie stars Remy Ma, Tami Roman, Daijah Peters, Danielle LaRoach, Stevie Baggs Jr., and Teisha Speight.

According to the Lifetime synopsis, 10-year-old Cameron has experienced too much trauma for such a young girl. Her mother, Patricia, suffers a sudden, serious health situation. Therefore, Aunt Mia offers to step up and care for the young girl.

However, the child service workers skip over doing a background check on this relative. If they had, they would have seen a lot of red flags and a criminal record. They allow Cameron to live with the very sinister Mia.

At first, Cameron thinks she hears something happening in the basement. Eventually, she finds out. People are chained to the walls and trapped. Soon, Cameron joins them. She is not given food and she is thirsty. But, her faith keeps her believing that help is on the way.

Meanwhile, her mother is finally recovered and frantically searching for her daughter. Will she find her in time?

Cruel Instruction Is A Lifetime Classic

On Saturday, March 18, at 10:03 p.m., Easter is Cruel Instruction, another Ripped From The Headlines movie. This stars Cynthia Bailey, Kelcey Mawema, Morgan Taylor Campbell, and Camryn Mannheim.

According to the Lifetime synopsis, this movie is inspired by real events. After getting in trouble, Kayla’s school counselor convinces her mom that the 16-year-old needs to go to a youth residential treatment center.

Once she arrives there, she suffers abuse from the headmistress. Can she find a way to get word to her mother that she is being verbally and physically abused?
