What We Know About Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie
On Wednesday, Deadline reported that Peacock has ordered the very first Monk movie. In Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie, “Monk, a brilliant San Francisco-based detective with obsessive-compulsive disorder, returns to solve one last, very personal case involving his beloved stepdaughter Molly, a journalist preparing for her wedding.”
The original team is back to bring this movie, including writer and producer Andy Breckman, executive producer David Hoberman, and executive producer and director Randy Zisk.

Who Is Returning For This Peacock Movie?
The old team is returning for this brand-new movie. Besides Tony Shalhoub (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), the cast includes Ted Levine (On Becoming a God in Central Florida), Traylor Howard (Boston Common), Jason Gray-Stanford (Percy Jackson and The Olympians), Melora Hardin (The Office), and Hector Elizondo (Pretty Woman).
There are a few notes on the cast. First, there is no mention of who will play Molly, Trudy’s daughter. Alona Tal, who currently stars in Seal Team, portrayed her in the final regular season episode of the hit series. However, they have not made any announcements as to who is now cast.
Second, the addition of Hardin means that Monk’s late wife Trudy is still talking to him from the spirit world. There are so many questions as to how this will occur. Was her spirit put to rest once Adrian solved her murder? And would that mean that she returns when her daughter is in danger? Or has she always been popping up and talking to him through the spirit world?
Lastly, what about Sharona, played by Bitty Schram (A League Of Her Own)? Will she be returning in the movie? We last saw her pay a visit, as well as when Disher moved out east now that they were together as a couple. Could Bitty return, even for a cameo?
