Katie Bates Returns To Hospital After Giving Birth, What’s Wrong?
Former Bringing Up Bates star Katie Bates Clark had to return to the hospital after giving birth to her first child, Hailey James. Sadly, the Clark family has dealt with a few health scares since Hailey’s arrival last month. So, what’s wrong? Is everything okay now? Keep reading for all of the details.

On Feb. 17, 2023, Katie and Travis ‘ first baby was born! The couple documented her birth, as well as many other sweet moments from the first few weeks of her life. Several family members, including Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and Evan and Carlin Stewart, traveled from Tennessee to New Jersey to be there for Hailey’s birth.
On social media and YouTube, Travis Clark and Katie Bates are sharing frequent updates about Hailey. Recently, they gave fans a peek behind the scenes at her newborn shoot. Things seem to be going pretty smoothly for the new parents. But they have run into a few health issues since Hailey’s arrival.
What’s wrong with the Bringing Up Bates star?
This week, Katie Bates and Travis Clark released a new YouTube video, in which they give fans a look at the first couple of weeks of Hailey’s life. They ended up having to take their baby girl to several appointments due to concerns about her weight, as well as worries about jaundice. Fortunately, everything seems to be okay with Hailey now.
However, when Katie and Travis were headed to an appointment for Hailey, they mentioned Katie’s trip back to the hospital. Katie said, “We’ve been to the hospital three times in under two weeks.”
Then, Travis explained, “Probably like, three days ago, Katie passed out in the shower twice. Thankfully, I was there with her, because that would have been really really bad. So, we actually went in to the hospital, got her checked out, she got bloodwork done because of her being low in iron when she gave birth, they had to give her a blood infusions, the iron infusions…”
Now, Katie Bates’ levels are better but she’s still on the edge. So, she has to get up slowly and be cautious moving around.
Fortunately, it sounds like everything is okay now. Katie Bates and Travis Clark haven’t shared another update or asked for prayers. Hopefully, Katie and Hailey stay safe and healthy moving forward. These past few weeks have been very busy and scary for the new parents.
