Disgraced reality TV stars Josh Duggar and Todd Chrisley are both serving sentences behind bars at low-security level federal prisons. Josh Duggar is serving 12 and a half years behind bars at FCI Seagoville located in Texas. And, Todd Chrisley is serving a 12-year sentence behind bars at FPC Pensacola located in Florida.

Todd Chrisley’s crimes vs. Josh Duggar’s

Now, despite serving nearly the same amount of time behind bars, the crimes Todd Chrisley and Josh Duggar were convicted of vary greatly.

Josh Duggar received his 12-and-a-half-year sentence in May 2022 after being convicted in December 2021. He was first arrested for receiving and possessing child pornography.

It was back in 2019 that Todd Chrisley was first charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud. It was not until June 7, 2022, that Todd Chrisley was found guilty on all counts. He was sentenced in November 2022 and he started to serve his 12-year sentence in January 2023.

Despite how closely the timelines for these two reality TV stars line up and the fact that most would agree Josh Duggar’s crimes are far more horrific, the two received nearly identical amounts of time behind bars.

When are their release dates?

As Tv Shows Ace previously reported, Josh Duggar’s release date was recently pushed back 10 days. This pushback is presumed to be because he was busted for having a phone (contraband) behind bars. Presently, he is slated for release on August 22, 2032.

Assuming Todd Chrisley is granted an early release for being a model inmate, he is eligible to be released from federal prison after serving 85 percent of his sentence. His early release date is presently scheduled for April 7th, 2033.

Doing the math, this means that Josh Duggar is slated to get released from prison nearly a year prior to Todd Chrisley getting released.

Why did Todd Chrisley get such a long sentence?

As Tv Shows Ace has previously reported, Todd Chrisley and his wife plan to appeal their current situation with the hopes of a retrial. Because they are hoping for a retrial, they were unable to admit guilt or apologize for their crimes. Moreover, fans aren’t even sure if they would apologize or admit guilt because they insist they did NOT commit the crimes they’ve been convicted of.

Because Todd Chrisley (and his wife) have not shown an ounce of remorse for their crimes, the federal judge threw the book at them and gave them pretty harsh sentences. Many legal experts have come forward to say they would have gotten significantly less time if they would have admitted to their guilt and apologized for their crimes.
