Dance Moms ran on Lifetime from 2011-2019 with the infamous Abby Lee Miller as its star. Although the reality show was pretty controversial during its run, it also produced talented child stars like JoJo Siwa.
Since the show ended, Abby Lee Miller has sold her dance studio and is focused on other projects. And now, it seems like she might even be interested in judging Dancing With The Stars this fall.
Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller wasn’t wildly popular during her previous judging appearance
Abby Lee Miller is best known for her role on Dance Moms. However, she’s hoping to land an appearance on another popular dance show these days.
The 57-year-old did judge one episode of Dancing With The Stars back in Season 18 and she wasn’t very popular with the audience members.
That year, Maks Chmerkovskiy and Olympic skater Meryl Davis took home the Mirrorball Trophy. And although they were phenomenal and beloved by the audience, Abby Lee Miller had some harsh words for the pair.
“She was really good. She was great. She ended up winning the season, but I told her that her feet were really bad and she needed to work on them,” Miller told The Sun.
The audience ended up booing her and apparently, her comments weren’t popular with the cast either.
“Well, lyrical routine, it’s all about the emotion, the extension, the lines, and the feet. If you’re dancing in your bare feet, honey, you better have great feet,” the dance instructor explained in the interview. “I told her to work on her feet. Oh, the backlash I got from the other judges – Oh my God! And the other professional dancers. It was crazy.”
The famous dance instructor would love to be back in the ballroom
Abby Lee Miller may not have won many fans during her short stint on Dancing With The Stars, but she would earnestly love to have Len Goodman’s empty seat.
When The Sun asked if she would fill in if asked, Miller excitedly replied, “Yes, I’m available!”
But until the Dancing With The Stars producers knock on her door, Abby Lee Miller is finding other ways to fill her time. For now, she’s teaching dance via Zoom and working on regaining her mobility.
The Sun also shares that she’s still recovering from Burkitt lymphoma that doctors found in her spine. Sadly, the disease severely inhibited her ability to walk. But Miller hasn’t given up hope of making a recovery.
“You know, I want to get back to where I was. I’ve still got it,” the 57-year-old told the publication, adding that she’s working on regaining her strength.
