Whitney Way Thore Reaches Out With Message For Fans
Whitney Way Thore’s mother Babs passed away on December 7, 2022. The TLC personality took to her Instagram a day later to break the tragic news to her 1.1M Instagram followers. She penned in her heartbreaking update, “My mother died last night just as the credits rolled on her favorite movie. Dad, Hunter, and I held her as she took her last breaths. It was 10:32pm, the same exact time she brought me into this world almost forty years ago.”
Since that tragic day. Whitney Way Thore has posted on her Instagram profile about 20 times. And, many of her posts were about her mother or related to her service after her passing.

It’s been a few months since that tragic day and fans of MBFFL wonder how Whitney Way Thore is doing after losing her mom. As fans that followed her knew, Whitney was very close to her mother. She spent tons of time with her and Babs was always in photos and videos on Whitney’s profile. In addition to being her mother, it seemed as though Babs was Whitney’s best friend. So, how is she coping a few months after this heartbreaking loss?
Fortunately, her most recent Instagram post gave fans the answer to this question.
Three Months After Babs’ Death: How Is Whitney Way Thore?
Whitney shared a gorgeous selfie of herself in a car with a pair of sunglasses on top of her head as she gave her 1.1M followers on how she was doing.
She penned in the caption of her update: “Hey y’all. Just checking in to say thanks from my family and me for being so sweet and supportive and loving my mommy so much.”
Whitney Way Thore continued to explain that seeing all of the supportive comments from fans who loved her mother has helped her get through this heartbreaking time. Scrolling through the comments of Whitney’s posts over the last few months, some fans wish her well and others try to relate to Whitney by sharing similar stories of their tragic loss. Per her most recent update, it sounds as if all of the love she’s received from fans has really helped cushion the loss of her mother.
One fan penned in a comment liked almost 300 times: “Whitney, you look Amazing. Your family has set THE best example of what family and community means, the support and outpouring of love is a reflection of how you have touched hearts and minds. Be comforted knowing that Babs was not only a lovely person, but the best example of a human, mom, and wife.”

such a sweet, gentle, dignified southern lady! she was a charmer. I always enjoy seeing her. the family was bonded in love and she held all their hearts together. I was so sick when her health started to fail. she has taught them all well and they will have the strength, her strength, to walk on. not to forget …there is darling and wise Glen!!!!

So sorry for your loss of your wonderful, funny and gorgeous mom. Lost my mom 1997, and was around 40, but felt like an orphan for some time. One day at a time, time really helps.
