What do we know about Lifetime’s Girl In The Closet? According to The FutonCritic, Cameron is a 10-year-old girl whose life has forever changed. Her mother, Patricia, suffers an aneurysm. Therefore, her Aunt Mia steps up and adopts the child.
However, Aunt Mia’s criminal record is not checked by the social workers. They are overwhelmed and overworked, leading them to overlook Mia’s sinister past.
When Cameron arrives at her new abode, she thinks she hears strange noises in the basement. But, she cannot go down there to look. When she does find out what is down there, it is horrifying. People are chained to the wall!
It turns out, this is her aunt’s elaborate scheme to make money without doing any work. She collects their benefit checks, while they stay locked up, out of sight and out of mind.
Soon, Cameron is sent to the basement. For the next decade, she is forced to starve, and be thirsty. Worst of all, she is not allowed any sort of human contact. But, she has her faith.
Meanwhile, Patricia, her mother, becomes frantic. She searches everywhere for her daughter. But, she does not get any sort of help from the authorities. In addition, social services are worthless. No one helps her find Cameron.
