‘Bringing Up Bates’ Trace & Lydia Bates Expecting First Baby

Trace and Lydia tied the knot in October 2022, got settled into their new house, and now they’re ready to welcome a new addition to their family.
Trace & Lydia Bates tease a big surprise.
On social media this week, Trace and Lydia have been promoting their new YouTube video and teasing a big announcement. In the thumbnail, they wrote, “Baby? We’re moving? Citizenship? New kitten?”
Leading up to the YouTube video premiere, fans shared their predictions, and many believed that they were expecting a baby.

The video went live on YouTube on Saturday and began with footage of Lydia taking a pregnancy test back in January. Trace had thought she was pregnant because she had been especially emotional recently. The test came back positive, but she decided to take another few the next day. She filmed as she went to Walmart and Target to buy more pregnancy tests as well as a couple of baby items to surprise Trace with.
In the video, Lydia admitted that she was planning to wait a couple more months to get pregnant. But then, in January, she said things changed and she got really bad baby fever.
After taking the additional pregnancy tests, Lydia learned that she is pregnant! A couple of the tests were invalid, while others were positive. She was in denial and a little confused, but she figured she most likely was pregnant.
To surprise Trace, she pretended like she had an early birthday gift for him. She filled a gift box with the positive tests, a pair of baby shoes, pacifiers, and a greeting card about having a baby. At the top of the box, she added a new sweatshirt, which was supposed to be the early birthday gift.
When he got home, she had set up a camera to record the moment and totally surprised him. Though the two of them were both surprised, they seem to be very excited and couldn’t wait to share the news with their friends and family.
