Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates Paine recently had a Q&A session on her YouTube channel. Fans wanted to know who her bridesmaids were on her wedding day. Erin married Chad Paine on Nov. 2, 2013.
In response to the question, Erin revealed that her maid of honor was her sister Tori. Then, her bridesmaids were her sisters Alyssa and Carlin, and her friends Becky and Abby. While answering this question, she pointed out that she wanted Michael to be a bridesmaid, but she didn’t feel comfortable. So, Erin didn’t push her.

On Reddit, fans are chatting about Erin’s recent answer about her wedding day. And many were surprised to learn that Michael wasn’t a bridesmaid, just because of how close the sisters seem to be today. One fan started the conversation and asked, “Just confused why she wouldn’t be comfortable being a bridesmaid for her sister?”
Other fans pointed out that Erin was the first Bates sister to get married, so this was a whole new experience for all of her sisters. Because Michael had never been a bridesmaid before, she might have simply been nervous about what it entailed.
One fan speculated, “Michael is shy and has admitted to struggling with body image her entire life. I think she was self-conscious about being on stage in front of hundreds of people and a camera crew.”
Someone else thought more might have been going on behind the scenes though. The fan wrote:
“So Michael may have said no to Erin, but there is definitely more that is not being said there. I think the more practical answer is that she had to watch the very young ones of their siblings.”
It doesn’t look like Erin and Michael have publicly spoken about this situation enough to share all of the details, however. So, all fans know is that Michael was uncomfortable.
