Gwendlyn Brown Shares Reason Leon Separated From Family
Sister Wives star Gwendlyn Brown shared with her fans the real reason her sibling Leon Brown separated from the family. The reality star has been sharing insights with fans on YouTube and providing additional details on events that have happened on the TLC show. Her sibling, Leon Brown came out as transgender in an Instagram post last June and has kept their distance from the family ever since. So, why has Leon strayed away from the family? Gwendlyn Brown Claims Leon Is Focusing On Their Emotional Health
On Monday, Gwendlyn Brown shared her latest reaction video on YouTube. The 21-year-old reacted to Sister Wives Season 17 Episode 9. In the clip, her father, Kody Brown, was seen claiming that some of his children are not cohesive as a family. He explained, “Leon, Paedon, Breanna, Dayton, Aurora, they don’t fit in well with the rest of the family.”

Gwendlyn reacted to her dad’s comment and claimed that his statement was “beyond wrong.”
She further confirmed that Leon isn’t close to the family because they wish to give themselves some space to focus on their emotional health.
Gwendlyn Brown Reveals Meri Was Supportive Of Leon
While Kody Brown has a lot of kids, eighteen to be exact, including the ones he adopted, Leon is his only child with Meri Brown. When Leon came out to their parents for the first time, Gwendlyn explained that nobody acted in a way that was too surprising. She further asserted that transphobes do exist in her family, yet in a small number. The reality star further asserted that Meri was very supportive of Leon coming out as transgender.

Although most of the family members were happy for Leon, Gwendlyn admitted that the idea of someone transitioning was a foreign idea to their Mormon fundamentals.
Gwendlyn Brown Claims Leon Has Been The Odd One
Gwendlyn further explained her sibling’s feelings for the family and said, “Leon has been, since childhood, kind of the odd one out in the family. Because they had no siblings from their mom to really get along with.”
She further added, “They just probably felt like the odd one out. And also, with Leon being transgender and queer in general and being in a family that predominantly practices a Mormon fundamentalist faith. Mormonism hasn’t really traditionally been kind to queer people, especially with a family that’s quite a bit conservative and partially against transsexuality in general.”

Gwendlyn Brown maintained that Leon isn’t distancing themselves from the family or not fitting in. They have just chosen to be with the people that they can trust and create a safer community for themselves.
