What Is Lifetime’s 12 Desperate Hours About?

What is this new thriller 12 Desperate Hours about? According to the Lifetime synopsis, Val (Mathis) experiences a situation that no mother ever wants to experience. Denny (Thomas), a man who murdered someone earlier in the day has broken into the family home and is holding her family hostage. This includes her young children. Moreover, her husband Mark (Conrad) should be home any minute.

Now, Val must think quickly. She realizes that once Mark gets home, Denny will do something desperate. That includes more murder. Therefore, she needs to get Denny out of the house. She realizes that this is the only way that she can protect her young children and beloved husband.

Val suggests to Denny that she can take him in the car. Moreover, she entices him by telling him that she will take him anywhere he wants. Soon, Val is out of the house before Mark returns from work, and she is behind the wheel, taking Denny around.

The two head out on a “rampage of destruction.” However, during this traumatic drive around, Val starts to build up Denny’s trust. She gets him to start talking and revealing more about himself. With each word, Denny becomes more human.

Despite breaking the law many times, Val is finally able to get through and communicate with Denny. Most of all, their rapport helps save the lives of bystanders. Her quick thinking may even have saved his life.
