It seems that fans are not happy with the upcoming DC Comics show on The CW, Gotham Knights. Without ever seeing an episode, and only seeing the commercials and posters, many fans are demanding the cancellation of the show before it ever airs.

Here is a look at Gotham Knights and why fans want it canceled.

What is Gotham Knights on The CW?

Gotham Knights is a new show coming to The CW, with Batman murdered and young heroes rising to protect Gotham City after his death. The show also has a very popular person involved for fans of the network. Misha Collins (Castiel from Supernatural) stars as Harvey Dent, the DA who will one day become Two-Face.

In the series, Bruce Wayne’s adopted son Turner Hayes forges an alliance with the kids of Batman’s enemies to help clear their names. He does so when they are each accused of the murder. This includes Turner, who Harvey Dent thinks killed his dad for the money. Also in the show, shockingly, is Joker’s daughter.

Most of the cast is a group of unknown younger actors. Outside of Misha Collins, the most recognizable face is Ethan Embry (Can’t Hardly Wait). He plays Cluemaster, whose daughter in this show becomes the second Batgirl in the comics.

The show also dropped a new trailer in January, showing some of the action. The trailer didn’t get a positive greeting from fans. Plus, with some new posters just released, many fans are calling for The CW to cancel the show before it ever airs.

Why do fans want Gotham Knights canceled?

Fans of The CW have already started to show disgust at the network, which has canceled several beloved shows over the past two years. The only DC show that remained after the purging was Superman & Lois, although The Flash has one season left before it ends. Now, this show, which has no ties to the Arrowverse, is coming.

Fans took to social media to complain about the show, sight unseen. Many of the comments came after The CW released the posters for the show. “Not too late to cancel it,” one wrote. Another was harsher, writing, “Get this early 2000s trash out of here.”

One fan was still showing disappointment in the cancelation of other shows (like Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, Nancy Drew, and Charmed), writing, “I can’t believe this is still happening when everything else was cancelled.”

The truth is that people should wait and see what the show is like before making a judgment. However, in today’s world, it is often easier to complain about things on social media.
