In a new Instagram post, Katie Joy explained to fans that Jeremy Vuolo had promoted Mark MacArthur’s financial wisdom on a podcast a few years ago. Jeremy talked about how wise Mark was with money. On Feb. 12, 2020, the SEC charged Mark with fraud. One day later, on Feb. 13, 2020, the podcast in which Jeremy praised him went live.

According to WOACB, the SEC “alleges that MacArthur and the other defendants listed recommended that their advisory clients invest more than $16 million in four private real estate investment funds without disclosing that the fund managers had paid them more than $1 million between 2014 and 2017.”

The SEC stated the following in the complaint:

“Defendants kept their clients in the dark as to all these material facts and, in doing so, they violated their fiduciary duty and defrauded their advisory clients.”

Mark will go to trial this year.

Did the former Counting On star know this was going on?

In the comments section of Katie Joy’s new post, fans are wondering how much Jeremy Vuolo knew. Some argued that he may have recorded the podcast weeks in advance, which would explain why it went live amid Mark’s legal trouble. However, Katie Joy pointed out that Jeremy never redacted his comments about Mark. He could have issued a statement or a disclaimer to make it clear how he felt about the fraudster.

At this point, Jeremy hasn’t said anything about his connection to Mark. With the details making their rounds on the Internet, he may have to make a statement.
