The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg feels she just got dropped into this century. The actress claimed so during a heated debate over social media platforms. She even mocked her producers on live TV as the show cut to a commercial break. So, why did Whoopi claim that she is new to this century? Keep reading to find out the details!
Sunny Hostin Shares Her Views On Social Media Etiquettes
On Monday’s episode, the panel at the ABC show discussed some basic etiquette released by Buzzfeed regarding social media. This included things like letting others know if there is someone else in the room while they are on Facetime. The list also included rules for taking pictures of a meal for social media before it is eaten.
As the hosts shared their views on the subject, Sunny Hostin chimed in with her take on unfollowing people. She said claimed that if someone unfollows a person, they should also remove them from their follower list. This is to ensure that there is no trace of the person in their life. Alyssa Farrah Griffin also shared, “There is some gratification though when you look at your stories and all of your ex-boyfriends, who you don’t follow, still look at all the things you post.”
Whoopi Goldberg Feels Social Media Is Too Complicated
Ana Navarro asserted that no one has so much time to look at everybody’s story. The camera then zoomed in on Whoopi Goldberg who with a confused expression on her face shook her head. After staying mum for a few seconds, she chimed in, “I feel like I just got dropped into this century.”
The Sister Act actress then explained, “Because this, why do I care if you follow? Followers are following you for a reason. But you know, let them do them. It’s too complicated. I can’t be on social media.”
Whoopi Goldberg Teases At-Home Viewers
Whoopi Goldberg then twirled her hands around each other mimicking a dance move as the audience burst into laughter. As reported by The Sun, this was a reference to John Travolta’s move in the film, Saturday Night Fever. However, she quickly corrected herself and mocked her show producer stating, “Oh ok. I thought he told me Travolta was up next, but he’s not. We’ll be back.” The show then quickly cut to a commercial break.
However, Whoopi didn’t just mock the producers but also the at-home viewers. After the show returned from the commercial break, she teased fans revealing that the hosts had a secret discussion during the break and it would never air. She even made fun of the viewers by pretending to cry and yelling “boo hoo” on air.

I can’t believe that they have not fired this person. She should have just stuck to acting..
I love her movies but don’t care for the monster she has become. She ranks in the Rosie O category the other host I couldn’t stomach. Let’s not forget Joy, I would not watch that garbage if you paid me. I don’t know how it has been on thIs long.
