Whitney Way Thore posts a fun birthday tribute to one very special guy
My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans have watched Whitney Way Thore explore love and dating over the years. But there’s only one man who will hold her heart forever.
It’s her father, Glenn Thore! The reality TV dad turned 77 years old this week.
“🎂 Y’all, today is Glenn Thore’s 77th birthday! It’s his first one in over 45 years without my mom, so I know it’s going to be tough today. Got a favorite Glenn moment? ⬇️ Let me know and brighten his day!” the TLC star captioned her touching Instagram tribute to her father.
“My dad is the most incredible man I’ve ever known and has set an impossibly high bar for every man I’ve ever met. Growing up, he not only attended every single game, performance, recital, etc., but he coached my brother and me in soccer and was involved in every aspect of our lives,” Whitney continued. “In almost 40 years, he’s never let me down. The man is the living, breathing definition of integrity, reliability, and love. Watching him care for my mother always, but especially during the last year of her life is something I will never forget. I hope so hard that I will be loved, protected, and celebrated the way my dad did these things for my mother. To this day, my daddy is my coach, my teacher, my hero, and my friend. We are so unbelievably lucky to have you, Daddy! I love you!!!”

The Thores are healing after their heartbreaking loss
As Whitney pointed out, this was her father’s first birthday without Babs around. The family matriarch passed away on December 7, 2022 after complications from her stroke.
Since then, the Thores have tried to move forward and heal as best as they possibly can. Even though they all miss Babs dearly, it seems like the family did everything possible to help Glenn enjoy his special day.
