Fans Worried As Katie Bates Goes On Road Trip In Preterm Labor
Bringing Up Bates fans are worried after seeing Katie Bates Clark hit the road while in preterm labor. She recently learned her baby could arrive any time. Despite this, she took a trip with a few family members. What’s going on with Katie, and what do fans think of this decision? Keep reading for all of the details.
Katie Bates Clark is in preterm labor.
As TV Shows Ace reported, Katie is now in preterm labor. She’s due to have her baby girl, Hailey James, on March 4. According to her doctor, however, she’s already progressing. The baby will likely arrive early and could come any day now.
Because the baby could come very soon, some of Katie’s relatives from out of state are now in town. Katie and her husband Travis Clark live in New Jersey, while most of the rest of the Bates family lives in Tennessee. The mom-to-be decided she wanted her mom, Kelly Jo Bates, and her sister, Carlin Bates Stewart, to be with her. So, once they learned that Katie is in preterm labor, they made the trip. Carlin’s husband, Evan, and their two kids, Layla and Zade, came along too.
On Instagram, Katie is keeping fans updated as she progresses. At this point, the baby isn’t here yet. In the meantime, something else has caught fans’ attention.

On her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Katie revealed to fans that she, Travis, Carlin, and Evan traveled from New Jersey to New York City. Of course, this may have been a short trip, depending on where in New Jersey Travis and Katie live. They enjoyed Krispy Kreme donuts, explored Times Square, and more.
Below, you can see a few photos of the crew having a great time. In a couple of snaps, Katie stuck a pose at Krispy Kreme. One of their coffees was described as “round and balanced.” The mom-to-be felt that this description fits her as well.
In another post, Katie said that it was “such a fun night.”

On Reddit, fans reposted one of Katie Bates’ photos from the road trip, and several were shocked to see her in New York City during this time. They think it’s risky for her to travel right now, even a short distance. One fan said, “Taking a risk going to NYC when you are having contractions.”
Another Bringing Up Bates viewer added, “I thought a trip like NYC would be the last thing they’d want considering Katie and Travis said their Doctor told them she could go into labour any day and earlier than expected?”
It’s unclear if Katie got permission from her doctor to go to New York while in preterm labor. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like anything bad happened while they were out of town.
