What Is Hallmark’s Welcome To Valentine About?
What do we know about Hallmark’s new movie, Welcome to Valentine? According to the Hallmark synopsis, Olivia (Davis) is having a horrible week. She just lost her job and her boyfriend broke up with her just days before Valentine’s Day. Her heart and life are shattered. Therefore, Olivia feels lost.
However, her sister Vanessa (Duncan) has a solution for her. Vanessa still lives in their hometown of Valentine, Nebraska. She thinks her sister should come home to visit. Vanessa feels that this is an optimal way for Olivia to assess the situation, regroup, plan, and pivot.
She assures Olivia that a trip to Valentine will get her back on her feet sooner than staying in her New York City apartment while other lovebirds celebrate Valentine’s Day with carriage rides and expensive chocolates.
But, Olivia cannot afford to get back home. Olivia’s roommate has her solution. She has a guy pal, George (Tarasiuk) who is driving coast-to-coast. Perhaps he can make a detour through Northern Nebraska?
What Happens Next?
George agrees to take Olivia. Moreover, it is exactly the halfway point between New York and California. His only request is that he is given a free night’s stay in her hometown. Then he will head to Los Angeles, his intended destination.
Also, George needs help with driving. Olivia agrees to drive half of the trip and they take off for their big trip.
Although they were complete strangers, the two get along pretty quickly. Olivia is a small-town girl. But, they are each presenting the other with an idealized version of themselves.
When they almost reach Valentine, the car breaks down. Therefore, George is stuck in Olivia’s hometown for a few extra days with her sister in tow.
Soon, George and Olivia realize that this may be the real thing and their priorities change. Could this be love? Moreover, could love change what they want in their lives?
Spending time together in Valentine makes Olivia and George pivot in unexpected ways.
