What happened to Ryan Seacrest?

On Thursday’s broadcast of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Kelly Ripa co-hosted the show with Deja Vu. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, she suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the top of the show. Kelly shared that her pants nearly fell off the minute she took to her seat.

Ryan Seacrest was noticeably absent from the show. Kelly introduced viewers and the audience to the show. She only mentioned that Deja Vu would be filling in for Ryan. Kelly referred to her as “my lady.” Deja smiled and waved at the crowd.

However, Kelly didn’t share why Ryan Seacrest went missing from the show. He was there on Wednesday and he returned to the talk show on Friday. The last time he went missing from the show was after he tested positive for COVID-19. Kelly was also recently sick from a mystery illness.

Last month, she had fans concerned about her. She lost her voice but was otherwise feeling fine. Kelly admitted that she didn’t have COVID or the flu that was going around. The TV host didn’t share if she had strep throat, which has also been ramping up this winter. However, her producers were concerned about her and wanted her to stay out of work for the time being.

Kelly Ripa announces her new venture

Ryan Seacrest is no longer the busiest co-host. Kelly announced her new venture. She’s coming out with her own podcast, which makes sense since she likes to talk. Kelly is staying on the daytime talk show, but she also wanted to do a side project.

The former soap star is starting Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa. The first episode will premiere in March. Milojo Production is behind the platform, which is Kelly’s company with her husband Mark Consuelo. The couple is also working on new projects for Lifetime TV.

“After 23 years of interviewing celebrities, authors, musicians, and experts on live TV, the big takeaway is that the most compelling and unfiltered conversations happen OFF camera. I have dreamed of a platform where I can have these honest talks without all the fuss and filter of a camera.”

It sounds like Kelly is following in Ryan Seacrest’s shoes. Her podcast will be on SiriusXM, which is the same home as his radio show. She wanted to have her own platform where she could discuss a wide variety of topics “unfiltered” and “uncensored.”
