Carlin Bates & Evan Stewart share a new video about Layla’s health.

In their latest YouTube vlog, Carlin and Evan took fans along as they went to the three-year checkup for Layla’s heart. As a baby, she had a hole in her heart. Now that she’s three years old, as of Jan. 31, she had another appointment to ensure there are no complications. Before heading in for the appointment, Evan shared that the hope is that the hole has closed up.

While at the appointment, Evan filmed a little bit but then gave fans the full update once he got back in the car. He revealed that the hole is closed and there are no issues with Layla’s health now. Both Evan and Carlin Bates were thrilled to get this good news.

Bringing Up Bates fans are livid.

While this was a moment of celebration for the Stewart family, fans had a lot to say about their decision to use Layla’s health concerns as content. Many fans think this is something that should have been kept private among the family. Bringing Up Bates viewers took to Reddit to share how they’re feeling about the video, particularly the part about Layla’s health.

One fan said, “They are out of content themselves and are now using their children’s lives to make $$$ for their family. Sad. Sick. Disgusting.”

Someone else chimed in, “We should know NOTHING about Layla’s medical history.”

Another Reddit user added, “I think sharing about the heart issues may seem harmless to them, but the problem is it incites speculation about Layla.”

The fan added, “I think those kind of comments are tasteless and people shouldn’t make them, but sadly it is her own parents fault inciting those comments by oversharing online with strangers about her health.”

Others are begging Carlin and Evan to protect their kids. It’s unclear if they’ll make any changes moving forward though.

  1. I don’t understand with uproar with sharing little Layla’s health update. All of the Bates family have allowed part of their deliveries to be filmed & those of us who watched regularly before they were taken off TV remember when Layla was born. I appreciate the Bates open & honest communication with their fans – we prayed for Layla when she was first diagnosed. Carlin & Evan are not exploiting her, they are updating people that have been there since the beginning on how her health journey is going. Praise God that the hole has healed itself! I look forward to their updates on social media. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to follow them. Obviously those naysayers are watching to see what information is given. Sounds kind of hypocritical to me!
