Amy Robach and TJ Holmes feel that the network kept them in the dark about their career. They’re now facing the reality of their uncertain future. The GMA3 duo has a feeling that no other network would hire them.
Two months after they went on suspension, ABC launched an internal review into their relationship. Insiders close to the couple claim they didn’t realize what was coming. They thought the general public didn’t think the news of their alleged affair was that big of a deal.
GMA3 co-anchors are on their way out
As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes are on their way out. They’re ready to cut ties with ABC because they have no other option. Sources close to the network reveal that they’re on their way out soon. ABC will give them a big payout, according to their contract.
They’re still in the midst of a tense meditation with the network. Yet, the two co-hosts call the investigation “a witch hunt.” TJ and Amy Robach think the network wanted to find a way to do without both of them.
The two don’t feel they did anything wrong. However, ABC found new information about their bad behavior behind the scenes. This has nothing to do with the alleged affair. TJ recently made news for his string of alleged affairs and being “rude” to the staffers.
Meanwhile, Amy Robach was allegedly caught with liquor in her green room. Sources close to her claim that she never stashed alcohol in her room, nor did she drink on the job. They call the allegations “ridiculous.” They think the network is trying to paint her badly.
TJ Holmes & Amy Robach kept in the dark
Sources told People that TJ Holmes and Amy Robach weren’t aware of the backlash over their alleged affair. They think the “public reaction has not been as bad as what ABC thought it would be.” The two also claim they were kept in the dark about the network’s plans.
“Everyone involved has been assuming this is what was coming all along,” the insider told People, contradicting itself by adding, “Everyone’s being kept in the dark. We all know it’s coming, but not sure when.”
ABC News President Kim Godwin also received criticism for the way she handled the situation. GMA employees think she dragged it out for too long. They also feel that she should’ve pulled the co-anchors from the air the first time the news leaked. She waited until the following week to suspend them and she stands by her decision.
