Just seven months after being involved in a horrible car accident that took the life of her boyfriend, Jake McLean, TOWIE star Yazmin Oukhellou has decided to take a beat from reality TV. According to an exclusive report from The Sun, the British bombshell has officially made the decision to walk away from the ITVBe series.
TOWIE: Yazmin Oukhellou Quits Show After Boyfriend Dies
Someone close to Yazmin told The Sun exclusively that she has decided it is time to step away from the show. The reality TV star has had an undeniably traumatic year and she’s currently more interested in taking time to heal following the sudden death of her boyfriend, Jake McLean. So, for the sake of her own mental health, she’s decided it is not in her best interest to return to TOWIE for the next season of the series.
She needed a break after everything to process what’s happened, so she has decided to leave the show and will not be in the next series. The door is always open for her to return, and Towie bosses were keen not to lose her but totally respected her wishes and want her to put herself first. They would love to have her back in the future, so watch this space.
As those who are familiar with the show know, Yaz joined the cast back in 2017. At the time, she was in a relationship with James Lock. James and Yaz had a very on-and-off relationship. There was even a time in their relationship when Yaz was ready to take things to the next level and marry him. Unfortunately, things just didn’t work out the way she thought they would.
She Isn’t The Only Cast Member To Quit
This shocking news follows just behind the news that Pete Wicks has also decided to walk away from the show. Unlike Yazmin Oukhellou, Pete’s decision to leave the show feels a little more permanent as he claims to feel as though he’s outgrown the series.
A source told Daily Mail regarding his decision to quit: “Pete is a hugely loved member of Towie both among viewers and the cast. But it’s time for him to move on now, he’s slightly older than the rest of the cast, and he’s hoping to achieve more in his career after being on the show for such a long time.”
