Julian Sands Brother Believes He’s Dead As Search Continues
Nick Sands, brother of Julian Sands, admits he’s come to terms with the fact that his brother is probably dead.
Now, Julian Sands’ brother wants nothing more than to find the 65-year-old British actor alive. Unfortunately, the actor has been missing since January 13th. He reportedly disappeared while hiking in the Baldy Bowl area of the San Gabriel Mountains (north of Los Angeles, California). And, Nick is in a place where he has come to grips with how long his brother has been missing and the possibility of still finding him alive.

Julian Sands’ brother believes the actor is dead
According to CNN, the actor’s brother issued a statement to a UK publication revealing that he believed his brother was dead. He stated that he knew in his heart his brother was gone. Nick Sands admitted that in true sibling rivalry fashion, it would be just like his brother to surface alive after Nick made a very public statement believing Julian was dead.

Authorities are no closer to finding the missing actor
A second hiker, 75-year-old Jin Chung, was also reported to have gone missing in the same area. On Tuesday of this week, Jin Chung was found alive. The hiker reportedly suffered “weather-related injuries and a leg injury.” But, he was able to walk with the assistance of the rescue crew.
Unfortunately, authorities issued a press release recently that revealed they are no closer to finding Julian Sands as they’ve yet to find any evidence to point them in the direction of where he was hiking after disappearing.
Below is the official statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department:
The Sheriff’s Department is closing in on the second full week of the search for missing hiker, Julian Sands. Numerous ground and air search efforts have taken place. As of this time, Mr. Sands has not been found and no evidence of his current location has been discovered.”
While speaking to the press about coming to terms with the reality that his brother was probably dead, Nick Sands reminded everyone that he took some comfort in knowing his brother likely passed away doing what he loved. For Nick, he preferred to believe his brother was dead over the thought of his brother being injured and suffering somewhere while he waited for rescue.

Other members of Julian’s family continue to hold onto hope that the actor will be found somewhere alive.
