HGTV’s Chip And Joanna Gaines Have Big Things To Celebrate
HGTV’s Chip and Joanna Gaines have let fans know that they are celebrating two very important things in 2023. The couple offered up the news with a video taken inside their Magnolia Market headquarters.

Chip & Joanna Gaines celebrate anniversary
Chip and Joanna Gaines took to social media to let fans know about a special celebration for this year. The first one is their wedding anniversary. This year is the 20th anniversary since the couple got married back in 2003.
On May 31, 2003, Chip and Joanna Gaines got married at the Earle-Harrison House mansion in Waco, Texas.
In an Instagram post where he celebrated their anniversary, Chip wrote, “2003 was a year like no other. Newly married and ready to take on the world, Jo had set her sights on a little shop on Bosque Boulevard in Waco. We didn’t have much figured out in the way of numbers and finances, but we believed in each other, and we believed in a dream to build something that would matter.”
He said that they wanted to build something that would not only mean something to them but mean something to their community as well. That is where the second celebration comes into play.
Chip & Joanna Gaines have a 2nd anniversary to celebrate
The two got married, bought their first house, and opened up shop for Magnolia within months of each other. That is the second 20th-anniversary celebration. Chip and Joanna Gaines are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Magnolia – which some consider the couple’s first baby.
The couple opened up the location for $5,000, which they borrowed, and moved into their first fixer-upper property. Since that time, the couple teamed up to create their empire. This included their television network, magazine, and multiple product lines. “It’s been quite a ride (to say the least) but we wouldn’t trade any of it for the world. I’m sharing my reflection on what the last two decades has meant to us,” Chip wrote.
This led to Joanna’s blog, which had a huge essay that Chip wrote about what 2003 meant to them and why 2023 is so important to the couple. Chip mentioned that in the last 20 years, they went from their wedding to a family of seven. He said they won and lost, but they never gave up and fought like their “lives depended on it.”
“We had something to offer this world, something we hoped would matter,” Chip wrote. He said they have come a long way from where they started, and while time “is roaring past us,” they offer up their love for the last 20 years and look forward to the next 20. “We’re just getting started,” he finished.
