NCIS Hawai’i star Yasmine Al-Bustami continues to be MIA on the show as fans wonder if she will ever return. Over the past few weeks, rumors have been doing the rounds that she might have quit the show altogether. So, why is the CBS star missing from the show? Keep reading to find out the details!

Yasmine Al-Bustami Fans Speculate Her Character’s End

Currently, NCIS Hawai’i is airing Season 2, and its latest episode aired on January 23, 2023. However, Yasmine’s character, Lucy Tara was nowhere to be seen. As per Hello Magazine, the only instance fans saw a good bit of the character was in the three-part crossover event. Plus, even in that episode, she didn’t interact with a lot of the NCIS Hawai’i characters. Although her absence was spun into the story, fans speculate if she will ever return or if it is the end of Lucy Tara’s character.

Yasmine Al-Bustami’s character, Lucy has been a fan favorite ever since the show premiered. Currently, as per the storyline, she is yet to return to the tropical island. The last fans saw her, she was promoted to a different role, a Special Agent Afloat. This requires the character to sail off on a ship for several months. So, there is a chance that the character might not return anytime soon. But, will she ever return to the show?

Fans saddened by the character’s extended leave took to social media to share their sentiment as one wrote, “Total bust… no Lucy sighting at all. So disappointed.”

Another mentioned, “Missing Lucy Tara and waiting for her return from the big boat.”

A third questioned, “What they need to do is bring back Lucy?”

“Come back to me NOW,” a fourth demanded.

Although the latest episode didn’t have any update about Jasmine Al-Bustami’s character in the show, the previous week’s episode did have small info on Lucy’s whereabouts. Season 2 Episode 11 titled Rising Sun which aired on January 16 revealed that Lucy Tara is doing great at the sea. In a scene between Lucy’s girlfriend, Kate Whistler (Toni Anderson), and their colleague Jesse Boon (Noah Mills), Kate shared details of the absent character.

Yasmine Al-Bustami Has Some Commitments In The Mainland

Joking about her girlfriend’s current marine situation, Kate says, “She’s good. She’s been sending me a lot of pictures but turns out the middle of the ocean looks like the middle of the ocean no matter what amazing country you’re anchored in.”

Apart from the character update, Yasmine’s co-star Vanessa Lachey also confirmed that the star isn’t gone anywhere. She informed fans that Yasmine Al-Bustami is currently working on other commitments in the mainland. However, she does shoot with them and did so very recently.

“She’s here right now, and we just wrapped two massive water days where all of us were getting soaking wet,” Vanessa revealed. So, there is a chance fans might soon see Yasmine return as Lucy Tara.

  1. I’m sorry but I’m glad she is gone because it puts an end to her openly gay relationship with Kate. I’m very disappointed in the gay agenda being shoved down our throats in more and more of network television. The gay community can hate me all they want. I don’t hate them, but I don’t approve of their immoral lifestyle and despite what the perverted churches say and that includes that apostate pope of the Catholic Church, the reality is that God does not approve of homosexuality and it’s made clear in his word the Bible. It’s sad that the mainstream public is having the gay agenda forced on them and Hollywood is apparently a major player in that agenda. Sad for me because I love the movies and television, but it’s becoming harder and harder to find anything worth watching anymore.

    1. I agree. What I do is DVR show then zip past all the gay scenes kissing holding hands etc. any show printing this agenda is eliminated by me!
