Why Is Julie Chrisley In A Medical Federal Prison?
Chrisley Knows Best fans were left scratching their heads when they learned Julie Chrisley had been reassigned to Federal Medical Center in Lexington. The prison is described as a minimum security federal prison for inmates who require medical or mental health services. As far as fans of this reality TV family knew, Julie didn’t have any health issues (at least not any that had been made public).
Likewise, fans could only assume that if Julie had pressing health issues, this information would have been exploited in the courtroom in an attempt to get sympathy and a reduced sentence.
Most fans speculated because Julie Chrisley had a history of breast cancer, this prison was the safest place to put her even though she had said she was “cancer free” for ten years on their podcast.
Fortunately, fans wanting to understand why Julie Chrisley was at Federal Medical Center in Lexington made their way to the family (and those close to the family). And, some answers have been made available.
Why is Julie Chrisley at a medical federal prison?
Speaking to TMZ, sources close to the Chrisley family reveal that Julie does not have a medical or mental health reason for being assigned to the federal medical center prison in Lexington. The source explained that Julie was ordered to surrender to that prison, so that is the prison she went to. But, there wasn’t a special request put in to be reassigned to this prison for medical or mental health reasons.
Court documents reveal that Julie was originally assigned to report to FCI Marianna in Florida. This particular prison was just hours from Todd and would have made traveling to visit their parents a breeze for Todd and Julie’s children. A little over a week later, however, court documents reveal Julie was reassigned to the medical federal prison in Lexington. The reason for the reassignment is unclear and those close to the family insist there simply isn’t a reason.
With the information available, fans can have peace of mind in knowing there appears to be nothing wrong with Julie Chrisley as far as her health is concerned. This, however, is with the exception of the fact that she’s currently doing seven years behind bars.
Fans, however, do suspect there is more to the story as the prison details imply the facility is intended to be ONLY for male and female inmates with medical and/or mental health needs.
