Yuri Manga ‘Whisper Me A Love Song’ Inspires TV Anime Series
Yuri Manga Whisper Me A Love Song will soon get a TV anime adaptation. Written and illustrated by Eku Takeshima, the manga series began serialization in Comic Yuri Hime in 2019 with six volumes published to date. Additionally, the manga is licensed in English by Kodansha Comics. Given its unique premise in the Yuri genre, Cloud Hearts announced a TV anime adaptation. So, when does the anime series premiere? Yokohama Animation Lab Is Supervising The TV Anime
For anime fans unversed in the Yuri genre, it is a Japanese anime subgenre that focuses on intimate relationships between female characters. Although it comes under the umbrella of lesbianism, it is also inclusive of works that depict a spiritual or emotional relationship. So, a Yuri genre anime doesn’t necessarily have to depict sexual or romantic relationships between female characters.

As per Anime News Network, the characters in the upcoming anime are designed by Minami Yoshida with animation supervision from Yokohama Animation Lab. Additionally, Hiroki Uchida, who served as the assistant director for The Genius Prince’s Guide To Raising A Nation Out Of Debt, is in charge of the series composition. The primary cast of Whisper Me A Long Song includes Hana Shimano as Himari Kino and Asami Seto as Yori Asanagi.
When Will Whisper Me A Long Song Premiere?
While the manga only has six volumes to date, a seventh tankoubon volume will release on January 18, 2023. As for the anime series, no official premiere date has been announced for the debut season at the moment.

Whisper Me A Love Song tells an emotional tale of the relationship between Himari Kino and Yori Asanagi. Himari is a first-year high school student who is known for her energetic personality. She confesses her admiration to Yori, however, the latter misinterprets it as a start of a romantic relationship. Even though Himari soon realizes that Yori has confused her admiration for love, she agrees to spend some time with her. In doing so, she eventually starts feeling the same way as Yori does.

Apart from being in love with Himari, Yori is also the lead guitarist and vocalist for the SS Girls band. She also has Aki Mizuguchi helping her win over Himari as her best friend. However, in doing so, she has to keep it a secret that she too has feelings for Yori.

Although the manga isn’t a groundbreaking tale in the Yuri genre, it sure does radiate a sense of delightful passion. However, the manga has been criticized for its slow pacing. So, fans would have to see if the creators would speed up the narrative to fit the audience’s liking.
