The 35-year-old actor recently won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Jeffrey Dahmer. His shining moment, however, was met with pretty mixed feedback. For those who have watched and enjoyed the docuseries, there is an agreement that Evan Peters absolutely deserves a Golden Globe for his chilling performance. Some victims of Jeffrey Dahmer, however, are disgusted. And, they are speaking out about Evan Peters winning a Golden Globe for stepping into the role of the notorious Jeffrey Dahmer.
Evan Peters Wins Golden Globe, Jeffrey Dahmer’s Victims Seething
According to TMZ, the mother of one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims is speaking out after Evan Peters become the recipient of a Golden Globe thanks to his performance in the Netflix docuseries telling the story of Jeffrey Dahmer.
During his acceptance speech, the actor thanked everyone involved in the series including Netflix and his cast members. He thanked his family for always supporting him. And, he appreciated those who watched the series as it was challenging both to make and to watch.
Shirley, the mother of Dahmer’s victim named Tony Hughes, thinks the actor should have included the victims of the serial killer somewhere in his speech as they also played a role in his winning a Golden Globe. As TvShowsAce has previously reported, many loved ones of Dahmer victims think making the docuseries was in poor taste as it glorified a serial killer.
Tony Hughes’s mother, however, also firmly believes that Hollywood should quit using tragic stories like that of Jeffrey Dahmer to make movies and TV shows.
What Did He Win Exactly?
As those who watched the Golden Globes know, Evan Peters won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series. The award was given to him because of his incredible performance as Jeffrey Dahmer in the Netflix docuseries titled, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
At the end of his speech, Evan noted that he hoped some good would come out of the creation of this difficult series.
