In the video, she admitted, “I like cats. I got cats every year for my birthday.”

She also revealed that her family only had outdoor dogs when she was growing up. It’s unclear whether the cats lived indoors or outdoors though.

Bringing Up Bates fans are concerned about where the cats might be today. It’s worth noting that outdoor cats live for around two to five years, according to Think Outside the CageThe same site reports that indoor cats live for anywhere from 10 to 20 years. If they were outdoor cats, this may explain why Katie continued getting more year after year.

On Reddit, one fan said they were “surprised” to learn this and asked, “Where are all these cats now Katie?!”

Another Reddit user chimed in, “I’m just frustrated to think of how the Bates neglect their pets.” Someone else added, “They really value the sanctity of life, these fundies, unless it comes to animal welfare.”

Maybe soon Katie will offer clarification on this comment. For now, fans are pretty unhappy about how the family cares for their pets.
