The Witcher: Blood Origin star Michelle Yeoh won her career’s first Golden Globe award on Tuesday night. However, in her emotional speech, she roared threats at the award show producers. The 60-year-old veteran actress bagged the award for best performance in a musical or comedy motion picture for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Michelle Yeoh Prepared A Long Speech For Her Big Win

The Malaysian actress’ career started with the 1997 James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies followed by Ang Lee’s Oscar-winning martial arts drama Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon released in 2000.

After decades of a successful career, Yeoh receiving an award for her work was a golden moment for her. Sure enough, she had a good long speech ready for it. However, midway through her speech, it seemed like the producers wanted her to wrap it up.

Michelle Yeoh Snaps At Golden Globe Producers

As per The Sun, the 60-year-old wasn’t ready to let go of the opportunity and blasted the show producers from the stage. After her name was announced and she head over to the stage, she stood at the microphone and took in the view. She explained how it took the star more than 40 years to get to the stage and flaunt this achievement. It was Michelle Yeoh’s first-ever nomination and also her first win at the Golden Globes.

However, midway through her speech, the classic awards show music started to play and it was a cue by the producers to wrap up. Given how Yeoh had waited far too long for this moment, she yelled, “Shut up, please. I could beat you up.”

The actress continued her speech with the background music and it seemed like the producers did listen to her without raising the music’s volume. In her speech, she thanked the writers of Everything Everywhere All At Once and also shared her love for Jamie Lee Curtis. Among others nominated in the category were Margot Robbie, Lesley Manville, Emma Thompson, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Michelle Yeoh Also Received A BAFTA Nomination

Born on 6 August 1962, in Ipoh, Perak, Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng, spent most of her early years in Malaysia. During the 1980s, she won several international beauty pageants in Malaysia, Australia, and England. In 1992, she appeared in Police Story 3: Super Cop alongside Jackie Chan, and five years later, she took part in James Bond’s 18th movie, Tomorrow Never Dies.

Although this was her first Golden Globes nomination, in 2001, she was nominated under the category Best Actress In A Leading Role for the BAFTA awards for Crouching Tiger: Hidden Dragon.
