Hoda and Savannah became the first all-female duo to host the show after the former was named her co-anchor on January 2, 2018. Now, they are celebrating five fun-filled years of togetherness in Studio 1A.
Savannah & Hoda Look Back At Their Five-Year Journey
Honoring their special milestone, the pair took a walk down memory lane with a fun montage of their moments together on the show. From dancing with Jennifer Lopez to singing with Dolly Parton, the montage showcased their journey through the years. As reported by People, the duo also looked back on some important events they’ve together reported on including Prince Harry’s wedding and the 2018 Winter Olympics.
It is clear that they are no longer clashing as the montage ended with a joke by Hoda. She said to her co-host, “We are a couple, OK? And let’s not forget it.”

Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb talked about their on-screen and off-screen chemistry while toasting five years together on the show. They were joined by their co-hosts Carson Daly, Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer, and Sheinelle Jones.
Talking about their BTS relationship, Hoda reflected, “Can I just say that the stuff that we show on TV is fun, but the stuff I love the most is the stuff that’s not on TV. I’m just thinking about our morning—Just this morning—and there are so many just like that, that happens before the cameras all go on, and we really get to be us.”
Savannah Guthrie Gets A Special Birthday Surprise From Hoda
Savannah Guthrie also jumped in and complimented her co-anchor. Talking to Hoda, she said, “We’re so lucky. You’re my soul sister. To get to do this together—you held my hand five years ago. We said, ‘Let’s do this.’ And this has been the joy of a lifetime.”

Earlier in December, Savannah Guthrie celebrated her 51st birthday on December 27 and received a sweet surprise from her co-anchor. While on vacation for her birthday with her husband Michael Feldman and their children, she received a hand-written card from Hoda Kotb that got the news anchor emotional.
