Netflix’s ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 Premiere Date Revealed
Netflix’s action-adventure drama Outer Banks now has a Season 3 premiere date. Created by Josh Pate, Shannon Burke, and Jonas Pate, the series premiered its debut season on April 15, 2020. The series received a renewal from Netflix for a third season on December 2021 which is set to premiere soon. So, when does Outer Banks premiere on the streamer? Keep reading to find out the details!
Stakes Are Set Higher For Outer Banks Season 3
The series follows a community-based in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It trails the conflict that happens between teenagers that belong to two separate groups (Kooks and Pogues) in a community. Season 3 picks up after the Pogues have found and then lost a golden treasure and fled their hometown. They then washed ashore on a desert island that seemed like an idyllic home for a brief moment.

Named Poguelandia, the new residents of the island spend their days swimming, fishing, and living a carefree lifestyle in their temporary homes. However, things soon go south for Sarah, John B, Pope, Kiara, JJ, and Cleo. They are once again caught up in a race to hunt for the treasure as they run for their lives. They’re far from home and broke as well. So, they can’t really trust anyone. With a ruthless Caribbean Don chasing the bounty, and Ward and Rafe hungry for revenge, the stakes are higher than ever.
When Will Outer Banks Season 3 Kick Off?
Was there ever a chance for the Pogues to find the treasure or was it a trap to bring an end to things? Regardless, it is the Pogues competing against the world and the best way out of their troubles is together. Talking about the upcoming season, Burke and Pates noted that, “the stakes are ramping up as they realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts. The cast has been fast friends in real life pretty much from the very beginning, and it’s been so gratifying to see those connections deepen over the years we’ve worked on the show. They are truly Pogues for Life.”

As per E! News, Netflix kicked off the New Year by announcing the official Season 3 release date along with new stills from the show and key art. Fans awaiting the series would be glad to know that Season 3 will premiere on February 23, 2022.
Was Netflix’s Outer Banks Copied From A Novel?
While Outer Banks has been well-received among fans, it wasn’t devoid of its share of controversies. Back in December 2020, a North Carolina-based teacher and author, Kevin Wooten, filed a lawsuit against Netflix and its creators. He claimed that they stole the plot of his novel titled Pennywise: The Hunt For Blackbeard’s Treasure! However, the lawsuit was ultimately dismissed in favor of the series’ creators.
