David & Buster’s co-founder James Corley has been confirmed dead at the age of 72. Has James ‘Buster’ Corley’s cause of death been revealed? Plus, take a closer look at his life as the co-founder of Dave & Buster’s.

What is Dave & Buster’s?

Most people have either been to Dave & Buster’s or they’ve seen a commercial for it on television or on the Internet. Technically, Dave & Buster’s is a restaurant and entertainment business. Most people consider it to be the “adult version” of Chuck E. Cheese. As of October of last year, the company has 151 locations within the United States as well as two in Canada. The company was founded in 1982 in Dallas, Texas by James W. Corley and David Corriveau.

In regards to where the name of the establishment came from, James and David flipped a coin to decide which name would come first. David won the coin toss. So, the establishment was named Dave & Buster’s.

James Corley Dead At 72: Cause Of Death

A representative for Dave & Buster’s confirmed James Corley’s death to TMZ noting that he would always be remembered as “an innovative and creative force with a pioneering spirit.” The statement continued:

Buster’s passion for hospitality, his demand for excellence, and the deep care he had for his team members were unparalleled. Our hearts go out to his family at this difficult time and while we will miss his wise counsel and his easy laugh, the legacy he and Dave built endures.

Sadly, his cause of death has been confirmed as suicide via a self-inflicted gunshot.

Authorities responded to a call from a home in Dallas, TX on Monday. It was James’ birthday. They discovered a man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. James Corley was still alive when he was discovered by the cops. After being transported to the hospital, however, he passed away.

Cops are still investigating his death.
