Josie Bates Pens Heartfelt Reflection: ‘Overwhelmed With Gratitude’
Bringing Up Bates star Josie Bates Balka has penned a heartfelt reflection and says she is “overwhelmed with gratitude.” The 23-year-old looked back on everything that happened in 2022 and celebrated all that’s to come in the New Year. From what Josie has shared on social media over the past 12 months, it looks like 2022 was a great year for her and her little family. She and her husband Kelton Balka have two sweet daughters, Willow, 3, and Hazel, 1. Things seem to be going well with Josie’s business and online store, while Kelton’s plumbing business appears to be very successful too.
Plus, Josie Bates had the chance to enjoy lots of family time. Below, you can see a snap of her with her sister Katie Bates, who lives in New Jersey.
Josie Bates feels grateful as 2022 ends.
On her Instagram Stories on Sunday, Jan. 1, Josie reflected on the many blessings she received throughout 2022. The young mother wrote:
“2022 was a year of growing for me. A year that God did so much work in my heart, changed my perspective, gave clearer direction, stretched me out of my comfort zone over and over and showed himself faithful time after time. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the prayers answered, for my growth (although sometimes hard in the moment), for the sweet memories we made as a family, and the sweet community around us.”
She added, “Grateful for another year with my people and so excited to see what God is going to do in 2023.”

Also on her Instagram Stories, Josie Bates shared a sweet clip of her family at church on Sunday. In the screenshot below, you can see little Hazel sitting on her dad’s shoulders as they walk on the sidewalk outside of their church. She mentioned how special it was to kick off a new week and a new year by worshipping with her family.
Fans think 2023 could be a big year for the Balkas.
