Fans have watched their kids, Layla, almost three years, and Zade, nine months, grow up. The couple has shared both the big surprises and challenging parts of their lives. Of course, Bates fans love following along.
Now, Carlin and Evan are back with another huge surprise!

In their latest YouTube video, Carlin and Evan gave fans a peek into their Christmas festivities at his parents’ home. As the family enjoyed baking cookies, opening presents, and more, Evan and Carlin had a surprise up their sleeves.
In their video, the former Bringing Up Bates stars revealed to fans that they decided to renovate the guest room at Evan’s parents’ home. This was a surprise for his parents, Denese and Paul Stewart. This is the room that Evan and Carlin stay in whenever they visit.
So, the couple and several other relatives got to work on this surprise. They found a way to keep Evan’s parents from going into the room before it was done. The crew gave the space a fresh coat of white paint, bought and put together new furniture, and hung a new fan.

To stick with their current YouTube video release schedule, the couple stopped recording before they had the chance to show Evan’s parents the refinished guest room. So, it looks like the reveal will be in the next YouTube video. Be on the lookout for that next weekend.
