Last week, Yellowstone was not on Paramount. Instead, they showed the first seven episodes of Season 5. In addition, they showed the first episode of 1923 and a few episodes of 1883.

However, will the series about the Dutton family air a new episode on January 1?

We have that answer.

Will Yellowstone Air On New Year’s Day?

Yes, Yellowstone is back! Paramount will air the latest episode entitled ‘A Knife And No Coin.’ Moreover, there promises to be a lot of action in this episode.

According to IMDB, “Jamie goes through with his plan; John has a request for Monica and lends support to an unexpected friend; the Yellowstone cowboys embark on a big change; a flashback reveals a source of Rip’s loyalty.”

When Will Yellowstone After Mid-Season Break?

After Paramount airs its New Year’s Day episode, they are taking a mid-season break. However, Paramount has not yet revealed when they will air the second part.

One reason that the network may not want to reveal when they are returning with the second half of Season 5 is that this information will become more critical after they air this eighth episode. Does this mean there could there be a cliffhanger?

Yellowstone’s  Season 5 Midseason Finale Episode Promises Cliffhanger

The premiere of another new Yellowstone episode on New Year’s Day will be the last episode until they premiere the second part of Season 5. Moreover, one star of the series has hinted there will be a cliffhanger.

According to an interview with TVInsider, Piper Perabo, who portrays Summer Higgins, the environmentalist who is romantically attached to John Dutton (Kevin Costner), there promises to be something exciting at the end of Episode 8.

She hinted that “there’s a lot coming. Things are on the move. I can’t wait to get back to the back half just because I want to know what happens. I personally only know what happens up to the midseason finale up to that last second, and I don’t know what happens when we come back.”

Most of all, Perabo hints that those who paid attention to the previous episode entitled “The Dream Is Not Me,” get some major foreshadowing into what will happen in the final episode of the first part of Season 5.

I think you can tell that things are going really south because [the seventh] episode doesn’t end at the fair; it ends with him practicing that speech. And Taylor’s very good — if you’re paying attention, he’s telling you where the trouble’s coming from. I think the fact that he ends with that scene is, for those paying attention, he’s showing you.

Sounds like a mighty cliffhanger that will make fans demand the date of when the series will return.

Don’t miss Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 8 at 8 p.m., Eastern, on Sunday, January 1, on Paramount.
