Did Meri Brown actually want to end her marriage to Kody? Or was it actually imposed upon her? This was answered during some of part one and more in part two of the Season 17 Sister Wives tell-all. Read on for more details.
Meri Brown Didn’t Really Choose To Split, Kody Forced Her?
Sister Wives viewers have all seen Meri Brown reluctantly stay in a loveless marriage. She has even openly said that there has been no intimacy between herself and Kody for over a decade. However, she has stuck around despite him repeatedly saying he does not consider himself married to her. She has been deemed pathetic by fans and many felt she resented Christine for doing what she had wanted to do for a long time. That was to exit the plural family when she realized it was no longer right for her.
In the tell-all, Meri Brown confirmed to host Sukanya Krishan that she and Kody were no longer together. However, it appears that it was not Meri’s choice. She shared that Kody basically made the decision for her and them with his words. During the season, he had repeatedly said, as aforementioned, he did not consider himself married to her. Furthermore, he had said he did not want to be with her and was fine if she were to leave and find someone else.
Meri Brown finally heard what he had been saying for so very long and accepted it. Though she still loved him and would be open to reconciling down the road, it was something she knew would not happen. So, this was just an acceptance rather than standing up for herself and walking away when she’d had enough. Now, Kody is down to just one wife, Robyn who is his fourth and only legal wife.
It is alleged by Kody that he wanted to reconcile with Meri Brown at one point. However, he also claims that it was his former third wife, Christine who blocked this from ever happening. He had actually talked to Janelle, Christine, and Robyn about this alleged reconciliation, which Meri knew nothing about. Apparently, Christine made it so that it never happened which she has denied and called “offensive” as she would never do such a thing.
In the end, Meri Brown has kept herself extremely busy, not only with her Utah B&B but with LuLaRoe. They have her traveling constantly which she loves to do. There have been times when she is almost never home in Flagstaff so separating from Kody is really not going to impact her life that drastically. As to how it will play out on camera is yet to be seen.
Do you think Kody forced this split upon Meri Brown? Did she finally have to open her eyes and see it was over? Let us know and watch part two of Sister Wives One-On-One Sunday on TLC.
