Andy Cohen stays sober but bitter

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Andy Cohen stayed sober during the night. This came as a shock to viewers who wanted to see Andy and his co-host Anderson Cooper drink during the live cast. The two men used to down tequila shots on New Year’s Eve.

That all stopped when CNN got a new head honcho. In early 2022, they announced that the network clamped down on the no-drinking rule. At first, the rule was only for their correspondents. The rule rolled out for the rest of them, including Andy and Anderson.

Just because Andy Cohen remained sober doesn’t mean he wasn’t feeling a little petty inside. He joked that he had a “pocket full of edibles.” The Bravo host also challenged Ryan Seacrest to a fight. It took place when Jack Black’s band Tenacious D made an appearance on the live show.

Most fans were upset with CNN’s coverage of New Year’s Eve. They feel that the show is better when its hosts and correspondents drink. They don’t want to watch something serious and buttoned-up like New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Eve.

There are still some fans who think the no-boozing rule was a good idea. They recall in 2021 when Andy Cohen had too much to drink and shared his feelings for Ryan’s show across the way. He also blasted former Mayor Bill de Blasio.

This led him to issue an apology shortly thereafter. Andy admitted that he was “overserved” during the broadcast. As a result, CNN enacted a no-drinking rule.

Is the WWHL host a hypocrite?

Vanderpump Rules fans slammed Andy Cohen. Over the weekend, one fan took to Reddit to share a clip of Lala Kent and James Kennedy’s first appearance on Watch What Happens Live. That interview was wiped from the internet. The co-stars both appeared on the show drunk and dropped several cuss words as Andy looked at them in annoyance.

Some fans took to the thread to call out Andy Cohen for not allowing Lala and James to appear on WWHL for some time after. “I know Andy isn’t being a hypocrite after his drunken New Year’s Eve drunken fiasco…” one fan wrote before adding, “Which I loooooooooved!”
