For years, fans watched Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 kids grow up on TV. They had several shows and specials, including United Bates of America and Bringing Up Bates. Now that their UPtv series has come to an end, many of the adult kids have started YouTube channels and also update their Instagram profiles regularly. This gives longtime fans a way to keep up with them and their ever-growing families.
Why Are Bringing Up Bates Fans Bored & Losing Interest?
On Reddit, one fan started a conversation about how boring things are with the Bates family these days. The original poster feels that Gil and Kelly’s kids are “they’re running out of interesting material” to post on their Instagram pages and YouTube channels. The fan pointed out that there needs to be some drama to shake things up.
In the comments section of the post, others are chiming in and agreeing. They feel that the family continues sharing the same old content over and over again. One Bringing Up Bates viewer said, “I agree. Right now we are in a lull because there are no new pregnancy announcements, births, weddings, engagements, etc.”
Someone else added a specific example and wrote, “I had the thought that I’m moving on as well after I watched Katie’s reel about her glucose test. I simply cannot fathom droning on and on like that about something that was such a minute detail of my life when I was pregnant that I don’t even remember it, twice.”

In addition to thinking the Bates family’s content is too bland, one fan pointed out that they are “boring people” who will eventually “run out of content.”
Though some of the family’s followers are losing interest, not everyone is. Many fans still enjoy keeping up with them via social media and seeing what their families are up to. Of course, it’s unclear what the future holds. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

I watch them on YouTube, but cannot people who try and post there lives when we already know what has happened.susan
