Remembering Bob Saget During The Holidays
January 9 will mark the one-year anniversary of Bob Saget’s death. He was found in his Orlando hotel room dead after apparently hitting his head. His family released a statement at the time to let Saget’s fans know what the coroner uncovered.
According to the report, he died from head trauma. It is theorized that he hit his head on something in the hotel room, though it is not known what. Because he wasn’t hurt or bleeding, Bob Saget didn’t think anything of it. Instead, he laid down and went to sleep. Unfortunately, he did not wake up. Reports at the time stated that there was no evidence of foul play or substance use.
However, at the time of his death, his family wanted all of his fans to remember the joy and laughter he brought to the world – both on stage and on screen. “As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter,” the family said in a statement.
Now, his widowed wife Kelly Rizzo is continuing to remember Bob through the holidays by sharing a heartwarming post on social media.
Kelly Rizzo Says ‘Cherish Every Single Moment’
Kelly shares frequent posts about her life with Bob Saget. Nearly every month, she has been sharing different memories they shared together on the anniversary of his death. On Christmas Day, she took a moment to remember her late husband once again with a touching post.
The post included four photos of Kelly and Bob together with different Christmas trees in the background. Her caption spoke about the last Christmas they spent together in 2021.
“Cherish every single moment,” she wrote. “I certainly didn’t think that our first Christmas together (in the same city) last year would be our last.” Kelly Rizzo went on to share some details from last year’s Christmas celebrations. Bob Saget got to meet her nieces, one who still talks about “Uncle Bob” regularly.

She talked about the lasting impression he made on everyone he met and, most of all, how lucky she feels to have gotten to spend six years of her life with him before he passed away.
Rizzo also shared a wonderful message with her fans and followers who might be grieving the loss of a loved one during the holiday season. “I pray that if you’re missing a loved one this holiday season, that you’re blessed with many deep and loving memories and gratitude that will help carry you through,” she wrote.
