Tamar Braxton Hospitalized: Terrified She Was Dying
A terrifying and scary situation for the Braxton family as Tamar Braxton was hospitalized recently. As those who are familiar with the family know, Tamar and Toni’s sister, Traci Braxton, passed away earlier this year at the age of 50. So, the hearts of this family were very much in their throats during Christmas week after Tamar was rushed to the hospital via ambulance because she was having trouble breathing.
Tamar Braxton Hospitalized: What Happened?
On Friday, Tamar took to her Instagram to tell her 5.5M followers that she had been rushed to the hospital via ambulance. The TV personality kicked off her post by telling her followers that it was not an attention-seeking post. She just wanted everyone to know what happened to her directly from her.

She explained in her Instagram post: “I was with my best friends @normankgyamfi and @wardellmalloy shopping and doing Christmas fun s— and the VERY NEXT DAY I had to be taken to the hospital by AMBULANCE, needed oxygen cause I thought God was taking me home cause I could not breathe and my chest was on FIRE!!”
The 45-year-old continued to explain she had the “BEST” medical team working on her to figure out exactly what was wrong with her.
Yall, I have the FLU 🤦🏽♀️ and let me tell u it’s worse than COVID in my opinion. I’m on 5 different medications 😩..please be careful.. I wasn’t around a lot people and have NO IDEA where it came from.. enjoy y’all holiday AT HOME.. u don’t want this🤦🏽♀️ .. oh yeah I’m completely isolated cause it’s hella contagious 😷 I love y’all for real ❤️.”
About 15 minutes ago, Tamar took to Instagram again to share an update with her fans. Unfortunately, it sounds like she’s still feeling pretty under the weather and is unable to stand for more than a few minutes because of how sick she is.

Her Fans Showered Her With Support
The first few photos and clips attached to the post included Tamar shopping and having fun with her children. The last two included a snapshot of her wearing a mask in a hospital bed and a brief video clip from her also in a hospital bed.
In 48 hours, her post was liked nearly 80K times with just shy of 5K comments. Here’s some of what her followers had to say in the comments:

For the most part, fans agreed the flu was terrifying this year and hoped she got better soon.
