Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ Might Have A Female Romantic Partner
Netflix’s Wednesday creators recently teased of a possible female romantic partner for the titular character. Although her current love interest is Tyler Galpin, someone she met at a coffee shop after she escapes her therapy appointment in Jericho. However, as it turns out, he was the villain and a creature called Hyde who attacks outcasts from Nevermore. Has Netflix’s Wednesday Been Renewed For Season 2?
Given how Netflix has been more inclusive regarding queer content lately, there is a big possibility that Wednesday might have a female romantic partner in the future. As of now, the series hasn’t been renewed for another season. However, the showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar are hopeful of another season and even confirmed they are open to giving the titular character a chance at romance with a girl.

In a discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, the showrunner, Millar confirmed that they are open to anything. However, he also affirmed that the concept of sisterhood is also one of the show’s core themes.
Wednesday Showmakers Wish To Focus On Friendship
When asked about a possible romance between Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday and her friend Enid, the show maker said it is a possibility. However, he also detailed, “We’re not gonna discount anything, and, obviously, sometimes characters reveal themselves, which is the fun thing we love about television, that it’s an organic journey.”
“We have a roadmap, and we’re like to have routes along that map that take you in unexpected directions. So, we’re open to everything. We wanna explore that friendship in every way,” he added.

However, the creators wish to remain cautious and don’t want to be influenced by fans and their expectations for the show and its characters’ future. For them, the friendship between Wednesday and Enid is currently the prime vision and they want to stick to it.
Wednesday Creators Want To Explore Other Relationships in Season 2
After the premiere of The Addams Family spinoff on Netflix, fans immediately picked up on the potential for romance between the titular character and Enid. However, the creators want to keep it to friends for now and explore the possibility of romance if the story calls for it. If the series is renewed for a second season, Millar and Gough hinted that they wish to explore more of the titular character’s relationship with other characters. A good one to look out for would be Morticia and her daughter’s relationship in the sophomore season.

Wednesday is one of Netflix’s best this year. It flaunts nearly 6 Billion minutes streamed just in its opening week on the streamer. The show has also bagged a spot on Netflix’s top English-language TV series of all-time list. The show achieved this feat in just 30 days of its release.
