Tyler Florence Was Almost ‘The Bachelor,’ What Happened?
Tyler Florence, known for saying, “let’s get rolling,” on the Food Network show Great Food Truck Race was almost the lead on The Bachelor. The foodie and Wells Adams have started a podcast together called Two Dudes in a Kitchen. Of course, they had to talk about the show. Tyler admitted he wasn’t very familiar with the show, but that he turned down being the lead.
Wells said when you’re on the show, you have to cook for yourself. He said you can get people to bring ingredients, but the food was often gone due to there being a lot of hungry guys This cooking adventure led Wells to go on Worst Cooks in America, the Celebrity Edition, which Tyler was hosting.
Why Did Tyler Florence Turn Down The Bachelor?
Tyler Florence said it didn’t feel right going on the show according to People. He had a four-year-old son with his ex. Florence said he didn’t think, “making out with chicks in a hot tub” was the right move. Wells joked that he did that during his time.
He said that was in the early 2000s when he turned it down. The reason he had the offer was that he was named the Sexiest Chef Alive by People. Wells commented he still holds that title.
He Had Good Things To Say About The Show
Despite not wanting to be the lead, Tyler Florence had nothing but good things to say about the show. He stated the casting directors are, “magicians,” and they find, “a needle in a haystack.” Tyler’s son with his ex is now twenty-six. He’s been married to his second wife, Tolan Clark for sixteen years now. They have two children a son and a daughter.
It could have been very different for him if he’d become the lead way back when. The two stopped by On with Mario and spoke to Mario Lopez about their podcast. They said the premise of the show is taking phone calls, talking about what’s going on in the kitchen, and cracking each other up.
He said those that call in he’d ask what was in their refrigerator and help them cook. Tyler said he was a huge Wells fan so it was a no-brainer when the opportunity to work together came up.
Both Of Them Have New Reality Shows Coming
Wells is going to be hosting another food show for Hulu called Best in Dough. The contestants are competing to make the best pizzas. Chris Harrison commented when Wells shared the trailer, “Hell yes! I’ll be there. You’re going to crush it, my friend.” Tyler is going to be on Special Forces World’s Toughest Test. The trailer shows contestants being sunk in the water inside jeeps and falling from cliffs.
