What Is A Biltmore Christmas About?

Hallmark’s A Biltmore Christmas has a story that is befitting such a historic location. In this movie, Bethany Joy Lenz portrays Lucy Collins, a screenwriter tasked with creating a remake of a classic holiday movie, His Merry Bride! The 1947 movie, His Merry Bride!, was considered a Christmas classic, and was filmed at the Biltmore House.

Now that it is Christmastime, Lucy heads to the Biltmore Estate to wander around and research for her screenplay. She decides to take a tour of the historic grounds. Lucy learns more about the property.

But, things change when she heads inside the house. She is “drawn to a beautiful hourglass.” However, she knocks it over and suddenly finds herself time-traveling back to 1946. This is when they originally filmed His Merry Bride! She sees a film crew getting ready to shoot the movie.

Suddenly, Lucy finds herself needing to delicately get around, as women are not in film crews during this era. Her presence is noticed, as she tries not to attract too much attention.

It’s not long before Lucy catches the eye of the film’s dashing lead Jack Huston (Polaha) and although she initially rebuffs his advances, their connection soon becomes undeniable. Lucy’s sudden appearance sets off a chain of events that put the production in jeopardy. Before she can return to the present, she must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever. Lucy has one chance to go home but must say goodbye to the man who might be her soulmate unless some Christmas magic can keep the curtain from closing on their love story.

  1. Been to Biltmore many times as I live 2 hrs away and had season passes. What a beautiful and wonderful place to film a Hallmark Movie. Hiked the grounds many many times and picnicked by the lake and so on. Excited- wish I could be there to see filming. Awesome 👏🏻
