Spy x Family just got the finale to its massive debut season. Right on the heels of its huge finale, we’ve already got official confirmation of more content from the show coming very soon. 2023 is gearing up to be the year of Spy x Family as we’ll be getting multiple new additions to the espionage anime. Let’s take a look at these new announcements and discuss the future of Anya, Yor, and Loid within the Westalis/Ostania war.
Season 2 & A Movie
Season 2, of course, got its renewal announcement. There was no way we weren’t going to get a Season 2 after Season 1 was one of the most acclaimed and popular anime of 2022. The news that we’ll be getting Season 2 in 2023 is very exciting, though. A very quick turnaround from a studio that has taken its time with certain series in the past. Most notably, the 4-year gap between Season 1 and Season 2 of Attack On Titan. Wit Studio has worked on several hit anime in the past, from Attack On Titan to Vinland Saga.
The other big and unexpected Spy x Family news is the announcement of a film to go alongside Season 2. A poster for the film has already begun to make the rounds on social media. The film, like Season 2, will be arriving in 2023. Most of the details of both Season 2 and the new movie are unknown at this time. Although we did get some exciting news that the movie will feature an original story and new characters never seen before in the manga.
But fear not, manga fans, Spy x Family writer Tatsuya Endo is the creative force behind these new additions. Aside from that, along with the 2023 release window, we have no further details at this time. But considering the release is so soon we can expect more details to arrive on the internet in the coming months.

Spy x Family went from a hot new manga to one of the most popular new anime on television in just 3 years. From 2019 to today, the manga has circulated over 29 million copies. Making it one of the best-selling manga in the world. Its original concept, clever sense of humor, and amazing character work have made it a modern classic before even the manga or the anime have come close to hitting their stride. The future for Spy x Family looks extremely exciting.
Spy x Family Season 1 is out in its entirety and available for streaming in the US on Crunchyroll. Both Season 2 and the feature film are coming sometime in 2023.
