Sister Wives star Kody Brown admitted that his family is in a state of civil war right now. Ahead of the announcement of his separation from Janelle in the Season 17 tell-all episode, the family has finally taken sides. The Browns are now divided into two with one that sides with Kody and his beliefs while the other stands with what’s right. So, what happened that led to Kody admitting that his family is in a state of civil war at the moment? Keep reading to find out the details!
Kody Brown Wonders Whose Side Is Janelle On
Kody’s family is once again at odds as they try to finalize their holiday plans. To add to the fire, Kody’s estrangement from his adult kids with Janelle is causing the mom of six to choose sides. The 53-year-old feels that things have changed in her relationship with the Brown family patriarch. Yet, Janelle will always choose her kids over him.
In his confessional, Kody states, “It’s been a bit of civil war. The whole family in a way. I’m looking at Janelle wondering whose side she’s on.”
Kody Brown Wants An Apology From Gabriel & Garrison
Meanwhile, Janelle was upfront with her sister wives Robyn and Meri stating that her kids (Gabriel and Garrison) have felt unwelcomed recently. She revealed, “To be honest with you I really don’t know if I want to do the work. It feels like I’m being forced to choose between my children and this group. I don’t feel like my children are welcome.”
The last time Janelle argued with Kody over their sons was after their fallout during the COVID-19 quarantine. Kody felt his sons were disrespectful about his rules and later he also claimed that they were mean to Robyn. Janelle also confirmed this in her confessional stating, “Kody basically told me they can’t come for Christmas unless they do a big apology. And they’re like well, ‘Hell no, we’re not going to do that.’”
Janelle Decides To Be With Her Kids For The Holidays
To add fuel to the fire, Janelle claimed that Gabriel and Garrison aren’t the only Brown children who have a problem with Kody. She stated that there is a general disgruntlement with all of her kids. Even though throughout the conversation, Kody became increasingly frustrated and started to raise his voice, Janelle maintained her calm. She even decided that she would rather be with her kids for the holidays than be with Kody, Robyn, and Meri.
In a clip shared on Instagram, Janelle even told Kody, “At the end of the day, I think I’d rather be with my kids. And you’re getting upset with me. There’s a strong pull to just run away and do the easy thing.”
Although the divide in the family has existed for quite a few years, the crack is more evident now. With Christine gone and Janelle’s separation confirmed, the children are now taking sides, and seems like no one will back down now!
