‘Sanditon’ Season 3: Everything You Need To Know
Sanditon fans finally have news on when the series will premiere Season 3 on Masterpiece. There is also new information on Season 4.
Here is the latest news on the popular series based on the unfinished Jane Austen book.
When Is Sanditon Season 3 Premiering?
According to Deadline, Sanditon Season 3 is premiering on March 19, 2023, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on Masterpiece. Moreover, PBS will make the new episode available to stream on that same day.
Jane Austen wrote Sanditon. However, she only finished 11 chapters before her death in 1817. Back in 2000, Andrew Davies (Pride And Prejudice) adapted the unfinished novel into a series. However, after it was canceled, Masterpiece saved the series.
Susanne Simpson, Masterpiece Executive Producer, acknowledged how important this series is to Jane Austen fans.
Sanditon has been an incredibly special series for Masterpiece, and we know it has found its way into the hearts of countless fans.
Which Characters Will Be In Season 3 Of The Masterpiece Series?
Who is back for Sanditon Season 3? Rose Williams is back as Charlotte Heywood. Next, Crystal Clarke is reprising her role as Georgiana Lambe.
Next, Ben Lloyd-Hughes (Alexander Colbourne), Kris Marshall (Tom Parker), Kate Ashfield (Mary Parker), Anne Reide (Lady Denham), Jack Fox (Edward Denham), Turlough Convery (Arthur Parker), Sophie Winkleman (Lady Susan), and Cai Brigden (Ralph Starling) are all back for Season 3.
The additions to Season 3 sound promising. Emma Fielding is joining the series as Lady Montrose. She is considered the “quintessential Austen mother.”
Her children are played by Alice Orr as Lydia, and Edward Davis as Lord Henry Montrose. Lydia is not excited about making a match, while her charismatic brother “holds a secret.”
In addition, James Bolam is Rowleigh Pryce (James Bolam, New Tricks). He is described as a “wealthy, curmudgeonly investor who is interested in teaming up with Tom Parker on the seaside resort’s expansion. Their plans become complicated when Rowleigh runs into Lady Denham.”
Lastly, Alexander’s brother, Samuel Colbourne is played by Liam Garrigan. Samuel is a charming lawyer.
Will Sanditon Be Back For Season 4?
Just a few years ago, PBS saved Sanditon. Moreover, they confirmed two seasons after its cancellation after their premiere season.
However, will there be a Season 4?
Unfortunately, the Jane Austen-based series will not be back for a fourth season. This upcoming season is the final season.
Susanne Simpson shared the bittersweet news that the series is ending. However, she revealed that fans of this series will enjoy Season 3.
While we are sad to say goodbye to the series, we know our audience has a lot to look forward to in this new season.
